The Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) is functioning every year with huge support towards the employee’s medical care and attention and with that being said, the scheme is active in 71 cities (already in operational) + 3 cities (to be started soon) across India and we all know that the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) is a Medical care and wellness scheme that has been made for employees who work for the Central government.
At the same time, the CGHS scheme is wide spread across India but it not available in every other city which is something everyone enrolling under this scheme should understand, where as 37 Cities across India are covered with wellness centres by the State and Union Territory wise as well.
There is a difference between Health when we talk about Cities covered with Hospitals, Diagnostic centres and Wellness centres and 71 Cities have covered with Hospitals and Diagnostic centres whereas only 37 cities are covered with wellness centres.
In this article we are going to learn about the cities which are listed as functioning under the CGHS scheme which means, the Central government employee in these listed cities can enrol in the scheme without any problem. Kochi, Konnur and Kozikoda are three of the cities which are soon to be added to the CGHS covered cities but it will take some time for them to be added on the list.

CGHS Non Covered Cities
Where as Cities which do not fall under the scheme enrolment order are not allowed to have any employee applying for the scheme and even if they apply, the application will not move forward, and the reason is simple because there are cities which are exempted from the scheme but these cities have some other scheme in the health sector.
There are quite a few cities which are not under this scheme right now but the Organization of CGHS has passed down orders to merge many of these into same functioning order in same state, so that the scheme can be implemented, and a total of 33 Pin codes have been issued orders by the CGHS department but it will take some time.
