FASTag has been made mandatory by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on the orders of the central government. It has also been announced that anyone who is not possessing the FASTag on their vehicle, must have to pay double the amount of toll.
As per the regulations of road transport and highways, it is mandatory for everyone to pay the toll fee at the toll plaza as they are well-developed roads.

FASTag Banks
A FASTag created on a vehicle will have a particular account created for it which must be always kept full of the amount, so that your access at toll plaza will not be blocked.
In this manner, the ministry of road transport and Highway has linked the FASTag with Banks. This makes the process of issue of FASTag easier and as well recharge very much comfortable to the users.
There is 22 banks in Fastag banks list that is designated to provide FASTag with their details and was asked to provide better service to customers to provide FASTag cards fast.
Customers can use their bank account and reach the toll plaza center and other service centers with their FASTag card with their bank account possessing the bank.
FASTag is also available through e-commerce such as Amazon and Paytm applications. Thus customers can use any of these options and get their FASTag created, which makes their vehicle eligible for passing with toll plaza.
The Toll Plaza will only allow your vehicle with FASTag and if you don’t possess the card. they might charge any amount as per their own guidelines.

Can I recharge my FASTag with another bank account?
Yes, FASTag cards can be recharged with any account irrespective of the bank. The creation of FASTag will require a Bank but having to recharge can be done through any other bank account or even any of the e-commerce applications.
Does FASTag Apply a penalty for late payment?
The FASTag card must be filled with an amount whenever you’re traveling. In case if you don’t recharge the card, your respective FASTag will be blocked. Only after the successful recharge of the account will you be able to pass through the toll plaza as a cashless transaction or you need to pay the double fee to cross the toll gate.
Should I link my bank account with FASTag?
No, it is not mandatory to link the bank account with the FASTag. It is only required to create the card with your bank as mentioned in Fastag banks list which makes it easier to recharge it in future. Vehicle owners should use the bank application to recharge their FASTag card account.
Which is the best bank for FASTag?
As HDFC, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Kotak Bank and Axis bank are nationalized banks, it is always preferred to have a FASTag account with these as per Fastag banks list. As they have served at every corner of India, using a nationalized bank would be always better.
Can I change my FASTag Bank Account?
Yes, it is very easy to change your FASTag bank account. You just need to open your FASTag account and verify it with your other bank by following some changes in the account. It would affect you indubitably, and you will be able to access your FASTag with the new bank account linked.
Does Bank offer a free FASTag card?
No, as per the guidelines the processing fee of the FASTag is similar in all Banks. Thus customers need to pay the minimal processing fee to issue their FASTag card with a minimum balance always in the card wallet.
